Cynthia Cedeño
Founder & CEO
Cynthia Cedeño is the founder and owner of Cedeño & Associates and the heart behind the firm.
She holds an Accounting degree from Texas A&M University and a Non-Profit Accounting Certification from Rice University, and brings over 20 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation. Over the years, Cynthia has become a trusted and highly respected nonprofit accountant, particularly among organizations throughout the Houston area.
What started as a small side business out of Cynthia’s home office has grown into a thriving firm that now serves over 40 bookkeeping clients and hundreds of tax clients each year. Her passion has always been helping nonprofit organizations and small businesses feel confident in their finances, stay compliant, and focus on what truly matters — their mission.
Cynthia is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is known for her calm, knowledgeable, and supportive approach. Outside of work, she is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and giving back to her community through volunteering.
Amanda Nitsch
Senior Accounting Associate
Amanda Nitsch has been part of the Cedeño & Associates team since 2017 and plays a key role in supporting both nonprofit organizations and small business owners.
She graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Management and previously worked as an internal auditor for Texas A&M, bringing a strong foundation in structure, accuracy, and compliance to her work. Amanda is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Her specialty is working with new clients — helping them get their accounting systems organized, set up properly, and positioned for long-term success. Clients appreciate her clear communication, patience, and ability to make complex processes feel manageable.
Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with their dogs.
Mary Vielma
Tax & Administrative Specialist
Mary joined Cedeño & Associates in 2017 and brings extensive experience to the team.
She holds a degree in Business Administration from a recognized university in Venezuela and has 18 years of experience in administrative and operational processes within the oil and gas industry. Mary has a strong passion for tax work, both personal and business-related, and is fluent in Spanish.
Clients value her knowledge, reliability, and dedication. Outside of work, Mary is a proud mother of two sons who inspire her every day.
Kerri Schaefer
Client Services Coordinator
Kerri Schaefer joined Cedeño & Associates in August of 2018 and is often the first friendly voice or face clients encounter.
She earned her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University and is a former kindergarten teacher — a background that shines through in her patience, organization, and approachable demeanor. Kerri works closely with several of our nonprofit clients and helps keep daily operations running smoothly.
Beyond her work at the firm, Kerri volunteers with BIG Love Cancer Care in memory of her son. She is a proud mother of two daughters and enjoys sharing life’s adventures with her husband, always grounded in gratitude and family.
Ginney Miranda
Senior Accounting Associate
Ginney Miranda has been a valued member of the Cedeño & Associates team since 2012.
She holds a Mathematics degree from the University of Houston and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Ginney works with both small businesses and nonprofit organizations and is an integral part of the team, particularly in audit support and nonprofit tax preparation.
Known for her analytical mindset and attention to detail, Ginney helps ensure our clients’ financial records are accurate, compliant, and well-prepared. Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading, traveling, and tackling a good puzzle.
Emilyn Lopez
Accounting Assistant
Emilyn Lopez joined Cedeño & Associates in 2024 as an accounting assistant.
She is known for being a quick learner with a strong willingness to support both her teammates and clients. Emilyn brings organization, commitment, and a positive attitude to everything she does, making her a valuable addition to the team.
Originally from Venezuela, Emilyn is fluent in Spanish and enjoys contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
